Stop the Trophy Hunt

"At a news conference on Tuesday, March 16, 2009 representatives from Coastal First Nations, Humane Society International/Canada and Pacific Wild launched a campaign to end trophy hunting in the Great Bear Rainforest."

The video being released by Pacific Wild will show the world the disturbing truth about trophy hunting in British Columbia and the truth about how trophy hunting is still allowed in the very "Conservancies" that Premier Gordon Campbell told us he had protected. One of the First Nations leaders today said that this isn't "hunting" it is a "slaughter".

This film isn't just about the killing of our bears and wolves for trophies and sport. This film is also about the importance of the bears to the complex ecosystems of the Great Bear Rainforest — and — their cultural significance to the First Nations people whose lands they share. These great bears are part of a global treasure that many of us feel privileged to share with our guests from around the world — people whose lives are forever changed by the experience.
