Fish, Wildlife & Habitat Coalition

This election, we have joined a diverse coalition of fish, wildlife, recreation and conservation organizations representing more than 180,000 members and 54,000 supporters and over 700 businesses across British Columbia.

This coalition aims to provide a united voice for fish, wildlife, and habitat in British Columbia. This coalition seeks to inform the government and representatives of the collective need to ensure that we have a management plan that ensures a rich landscape for fish and wildlife through a habitat management plan that puts fish and wildlife first. British Columbia is home to diverse landscapes and biodiversity. With bears being an umbrella species, the importance of food and habitat security is of our utmost concern. However, lack of investment in fish, wildlife, and habitat management, combined with the impacts of resource extraction, climate change and a growing human population, has severely reduced the number of species and jeopardizes the Super, Natural British Columbia we all know and love.

The Fish, Wildlife and Habitat Coalition call on the next government – in partnerships with First Nations, communities, and organizations – to invest, conserve, protect and restore our landscapes and wildlife to stabilize and restore what makes this province special.

The coalition partners with the following:

  • BC Wildlife Federation
  • Guide Outfitters Association ofo BNC
  • CPAWS BC
  • Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative
  • Outdoor Recreation Council of BC
  • Wildsight
  • Wilderness Tourism Association of BC
  • BC Federation of Drift Fishers
  • BC Federation of Fly Fishers
  • Georgia Straight Alliance
  • Watershed Watch
  • And many more
