Adventure Tourism HUB for Land Authorizations
The Province of British Columbia, through the Ministry of Water, Lands and Resource Stewardship, has launched a new centralized permitting approach designed to cut through complexity and improve coordination for operators across the province. A pilot project began last week in partnership with HeliCat Canada, marking an important first step toward a more streamlined and consistent process.
This has been a long road through the Adventure Tourism Coalition, where the Commercial Bear Viewing Association (CBVA), Executive Director, Kathy MacRae serves as co-chair, and it’s encouraging to see this work finally take shape. While the pilot is currently focused on winter motorized sectors, we’re hopeful this approach will expand to include other areas of adventure tourism in the near future.
